Dead Ends

Listed below are some areas of my family research for which I seek assistance. Please send an e-mail if you have any information or suggestions. I will gladly exchange any/all info that I have. THANKS!

Richard Carson lived in Lower Paxtang Twp, Lancaster (later Dauphin) County, PA during the Revolution. His wife may have been Chistiana or Christine Graham. Richard had at least two children born in the 1770's: Richard (c1775-1813) and Sallie. There are no proven relationships to other Carsons in the area, however, it is strongly suspected that Richard Carson is the son or grandson of John Carson, trader and merchant, who entered the area in the 1740's. Richard, Jr. married Elizabeth Irwin (1779-1843) in 1798 and migrated to Ohio Co, VA. Richard, Sr. died on 8 Oct 1808 at the home of his son. Seek any info on Carsons, Irwins, and Grahams in the Dauphin Co. area.

George Walker was born in Ireland and migrated to America before 1822, settling in Pennsylvania where he died, probably at a young age. His wife was a native of Pennsylvania. They had at least two children: Nancy and Thomas. Nancy Walker (????-1864) married Henry Moore (c1821-1849) in 1843. She may have later married Zephaniah Mercer. Thomas Walker (1822-1886) was born at Bower Hill, PA (either in Washington or Allegheny County) and became a master carpenter in Washington, PA. He married Elizabeth S Wilson (c1830-1882), daughter of William Wilson of Allegheny Co, PA in 1849. Seek any information on the Walker and Wilson families.

Julia Ann Beers was born at Newport, Kentucky in November, 1858, the daughter of Charles Beers and Sophia Sandels. The family migrated to Allegheny Co, PA where Julia married Gilbert Gaston Gordon (1832-1892) of Moon Twp. in 1875 at age 16. Seek any information on the Beers, Sandel(s), and Gordon families.

Robert Bovard was born circa 1805 in Ireland where he married, as his first wife, Margaret (c1811 - 1842). Robert and Margaret migrated to America in the 1830s, settling perhaps in north central Pennsylvania. Later they moved to first Venango, then Butler Co, PA where Margaret died. Robert married, as his second wife, Margaret Eakin (c1816 - 1886), daughter of John Eakin and Margaret McClelland and a native of Ireland. Robert Bovard ran a country store and post office in Farmington (later Eau Claire), PA and was a Justice of the Peace. He died in Pittsburgh, PA on 3 May 1887. Seek any information on the Bovard, Eakin, and McClelland families. Also, seek any connection to the line of John Bovard (1744 - 1817) from County Donegal, Ireland who settled in Westmoreland Co, PA. James Bovard (1776-1853), son of John, migrated to Butler Co, PA and members of his line lived in close proximity to the Robert Bovard family.
