Retired greyhounds make loving and loyal friends. They are
extremely intelligent, very affectionate and are usually excellent
with children. The dogs we have available for adoption range from
the age of around 18 months on up to about 8 years. They live long
healthy lives from 12 to 14 years. Their fur is very short and
silky which they are constantly cleaning. The most surprising thing
about these racing greyhounds is that they require little exercise
and are big couch potatoes preferring an afternoon of napping
instead of a two mile jog.
Homes for Hounds is a nonprofit organization which spends a
tremendous amount of time trying their best to find happy homes for
these great dogs. Wouldn't you like to be the proud owner of a
retired racer? It's very easy to do. Just contact one of the
representatives below. They will explain the adoption program to
you and find the right dog that will fit into your family's
lifestyle.
