MY PAGE ABOUT ME, SORT OF

Hi! My name is Juli (obviously).
I live in Oregon, just south of Portland, in the beautiful Pacific North West.
I have one boy child, Derek, age 20.
I go to see our local WHL (major junior hockey) team,
the PORTLAND WINTERHAWKS, during the (always too short) hockey season,
and our local 'AAA' baseball team, Portland Beavers,
during the too short 'AAA' season.
A group is trying to bring Major League Baseball to Portland, but I'm a little iffy about that,
as I am about the scheme to try and bring a NHL team here.
Pro teams of whatever sport league generally price their tickets out of my reach.
We have a NBA team, the Portland TrailBlazers, but I can't afford to go see them.
So I don't.
Actually, I did go twice last season (00-01), because a friend was nice enough to share.
Derek bought me a new whiz-bang pc for my birthday,
1 gig AMD processor, 256 meg ram, 60 gig hard drive, dvd/cd player, 32 meg 3D graphics card.
He had it custom built at Hard Drives NorthWestHard Drives NorthWest, and they did a great job.
I have already broken it open and played with the guts (added my cd burner, DSL modem,
regular modem, zip drive, stuff like that)
Occasionally we go hiking in one of our beautiful state parks or national forests.
The country's largest forested park within city limits,
FOREST PARK, is near where I work, in NW Portland, so a
friend, Lisa, and I quite often walk there at lunch.
Derek and I try to get over to the coast as often as possible,
but forget BayWatch. The Oregon coast is rocky and the water is cold,
but WE love it.
I have been to the beach in Southern California so I can make the comparison,
and believe you me, the Oregon coast is better. Do you remember those old Hamms beer commercials?
I guess you gotta be a native to not only love, but appreciate our coast.
Other than that, I read a lot, I spin my own yarn, I knit, I crochet,
I do counted needlework, I needlepoint, I sew, I tat (make lace).
I even make my own bread some times!

I don't live a very exciting life, but I like it.

I have had hard drive failures in the past, as have many of us I'm sure.
So that I never loose them again I have entered my my bookmarks as a series of pages.
Purely as a preventive measure you understand (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
I am in the process of updating 5 years, and many thousand, of bookmarks.
