Dear Pope John Paul II,

Enclosed is the story of a beautiful experience I had in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow, Louisiana and also pictures of the Shrine which I built in my front yard in 1979 and 1980. It took me a year and six months to build it.

I tried to get professional men to build it but everyone was too busy to do it so I built most of it and did the best I could.

I told the priest about seeing the Holy Mother in church after I received Holy Communion. I also told the Bishop Warren L. Boudreaux of Houma-Thibodaux Diocese who is our Bishop. He was pleased with the Shrine and blessed it as something special on April 30, 1981. He also came back on April 28, 1982 for the first Anniversary of the Shrine. I hope to have a celebration of the Shrine every year on April 30 as long as I live.

I hope and pray that some day you may have a chance to visit the Shrine. Nothing would please me more.

I was born on December 27, 1914 and I married to Kate Bourg on May 28, 1938. All of my family are Catholics. I thank God for that. I serve mass five days a week and I'm an usher on Saturday or Sunday. I'm also a Knight of Columbus and a member of the Holy Name Society. I also serve all the funerals. My confessor is the good and gentle Father Peter McKeon whom I'm very glad to know.
