Caring Kids Nominations for 2002

A Golden Paw is awarded here to kids that have worked or raised money to help shelter animals. If you wish to nominate an individual or group, email us with your nomination.

A big thank you goes out to Homer Glen Girl Scout Troop 353 and Homer Glen Boy Scout Den 12 for the food and supplies they donated to help our furry friends : )

The Snowflake Club from Homer Junior High
The club made a contribution of $152.45 to TLC along with food and supplies for the animals. A big thanks goes out to these caring kids!

Girl Scouts from Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School in Orland Hills
The Girl Scouts from Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School in Orland Hills planned a "Community Blitz" for TLC from October 21st through the 25th. Troops involved were 047, 022, 006, 124, 357, 438, 459, 642, 071, 1026, 1002, 152 and 158. Oodles of paper towels, food, treats toys, cleaners, collars and leashes, rugs, bowls and so much more were brought to the shelter.

Jessica Wielocha & Annie, Megan, Nora, and Molly Mokate
Area girls Jessica Wielocha (8 years) and sisters Annie (5), Megan (5), Nora (7), and Molly Mokate (9) deserve applause. The girls got together and took money from each of their piggy banks and also went around the neighborhood to collect money for the animals at TLC. The girls totaled $40.13 to help the animals!

John and Sarah Guminski
They asked for food and donations for the animals instead of gifts for themselves at their birthday party. Sarah and John wanted to do this as a way of thanking the Shelter for the wonderful dog Trixie they adopted from TLC.

Mrs. Marilyn Contiguala's first grade class at L.J. Schilling North School, with the help of student teacher Erika Follkie who took up the collection donated food, supplies and $84.00 to help the animals.

Alicia Stoklosa requested that instead of everyone bringing her presents at her birthday party, they should bring things for the animals at the shelter. That certainly is a very generous little girl!

Environmental Club members had been checking the TLC website for several weeks and wanted to do something special for the animals. They arrived by bus from Burbank IL with a load of food and supplies for the shelter.
