Here's the happy ending story of Alphie (formerly Spike):

Hi!

I wanted to write you all to let you know how Spike, the Welsh Corgi we adopted from you on Nov. 6, is doing. He is doing great! His new name is Alphie, which he learned almost immediately. Everyone who meets him loves him...but not as much as we do. Thank you so much for helping us to find such a wonderful dog. We truly feel like he is the perfect dog for us. He seems very happy here in the city.

As you may remember, I work for a dog walking company so he's gotten to meet a lot of different pups over the past few months. He's even made another Corgi friend, a smaller Pembroke named Guru. We're constantly amazed at how smart he is. Just the other day he picked up a small figurine of a Corgi that we had on a table, after sniffing it out. He must've noticed that it looked like him! (He never picks up things other than his toys either).

Alphie has slimmed down a bit from all of his exercise to a trim 40 lbs., no longer being classified as what the vet called "obese" =). It's hard for us to imagine this dog being the same one in your internet ad who was sad and forlorn in his kennel. We attached a picture of him to the e-mail so you can see his smiling face. Hope all is well at TLC, and we will stay in touch!

Thanks for everything!

Mike, Mel and Alphie (formerly Spike)
