Here's the happy ending story of Foxy (formerly Penny):

Hello I just wanted to update everyone on how Penny (aka Jack's Foxy Lady) is doing.

We came in last weekend (12-6) looking for a adult dog. I had lost my female golden after 9 short years to an aneurysm and myself and our male golden were not handling the loss very well. We had already been to 3 different shelters by the time we came to Tender Loving Care, and to say the least, I was getting discouraged. I explained that if we didn't find a dog at TLC, I was done for the day, I just wanted to go home. We looked at 3 different dogs and well, our male golden Jack came along for the final say. The only dog that sparked his interested was your Penny. He stood guard over her, he wagged his tail, and he drooled all over her. As we were decieding, someone in the lobby said she looked like a little fox. Right then and there I knew, I wasn't holding the leash of Penny, she had become Jack's Foxy Lady. All the way home and through the reminder of the night, she ignored us but stayed right with Jack. I thought maybe I had made a mistake because she was to timid. Come Sunday morning, we could not keep her still! She has been up and playing, and getting our senior dog moving again! She is a blessing! She went last night for her first bath at the groomers, and true to her name, surprisinly, she stood like a little Lady. It hasn't even been a week and she is falling into her role as the lady of the house wonderfully. There hasn't even been any accidents in the house since Sunday, and that's pretty good for a 4 month old puppy!

We just wanted to say Thanks to Denny and "Mom" as my husband kept calling her, they were so great! We will send more updates on our little Lady soon!

UPDATE:

Hi everyone just thought we would send you another update on Penny aka Foxy, except now...I have pictures!

We adopted Penny aka Foxy from TLC on December 6th. Actually if you remember "Mom" (as my husband refers to Janine) Jack (our golden retriever) is the one that picked out little Foxy, not us. Foxy went to the vet on Dec. 16th and we found out that she is about 6 months old so she is pretty much full grown at 26 pounds. Getting her to the vet was a chore all in itself. She was VERY leary of any human, especially those that walk with a cane or carry a stick?? She walks well on a leash IF Jack is on a leash and in front of her....then she just followed him. The trip to the vet was crazy, I almost had to turn around and go back for Jack, but we survived. She is an absolute joy to have around, I'm glad we took Jack's advice and brougt her home. However it took a good 4 weeks for her to actually come up to us and want to be petted. She seemed so shy and timid while she was there, and she has just blossomed with Jack. Foxy made her return visit to the vet just last week and she did much better (although she still had to be carried because the leash thing still isn't working for her unless Jack is around) and she goes in on Feb. 5th to get spayed. She keeps us all in line here, and her favorite game is to "herd" the cats. We have a 6 foot cat tree and Foxy's favorite game is to wait until the cats expect nothing, then she jumps on them, chases them around the house and up the cat tree. Then she barks enough to say, Hey come look what I did! Aren't I a good girl??? Christmas time was fun, the kitten likes to climb in the tree, so my christmas tree had eyes, Foxy took care of that for me, she chased the kitten right out of the tree. Unfortunatly we had to unplug the tree because when Foxy chased the kitten, the christmas tree spun around. Yeah, it was a fun filled holiday that is for sure! I have attached some pics of Foxy and her big brother Jack. Although we can pet her and she comes up to us, she still won't hold still in a photo with us. But she sits pretty for the camera with Jack at her side! Go figure!

(my favorite picture is the one where she just got her bath and she is looking at the camera enough to say...what have they done to me! lol)
