Here's the Happy Ending story of Gracie (formerly Anna):

Hello,

My name was Anna, but since my cousin is named Annie, I was renamed Gracie. I really lucked out getting adopted by my new mom. I was adopted on July 12th, 2008. I was sitting in the back of my cage, scared to death, and my new mom didn't even want to take me out to visit with me. My aunt, who was with her, insisted on bringing me out and I don't really know what happened but my mom says something about her heart melting. I was very shy and I am really working hard to get over that. I hear people talking about the "good progress" I am making. My mom takes me everywhere to get new experiences and meet lots of new people. Also, I am going to school and I am doing very well. I can't believe the stuff I have either! I have so many new toys and I have two new collar and leash sets. I can really get used to all this!

Apart from all that good stuff, I have so many cousins to play with! I've included some pictures with my favorite cousin, Kelsey a Giant Schnauzer. Myles is kind of crazy, but he's really fun to play the catch me game with. I wasn't so sure about my cousin Annie, but we are getting along well now. Maggie, who is the one knocked out on the couch in the picture with me, will play and play and play! My cousin Emma is kind of old, so while we don't play much, she always keeps her eye out for me. (I told you I had a lot of cousins!)

Well, thanks so much for transporting me up to TLC from that other shelter. While it was a pretty stressful couple of days for me there, I am happy to report I am coming out of my shell and am having all sorts of wonderful experiences. I hope you like the pictures of me. (I like hiding in the day lilies at my aunt's house.)

Love,

Gracie

P.S. My mom wanted me to tell you, while I was spayed, she would like to donate the $25.00 back to the shelter. I would rather she buy me toys and treats, but she said something about me being showered with things from all my other friends and family and the money would be better spent helping other dogs than buying me yet another toy.
