Here's the happy ending story of Mindy & Jack (formerly Betty & Jack Benny):

We adopted Mindy September 2005 after our 10 year Rottweiler passed away. Everyone agreed that our home just wasn't the same without a dog. After spending some time with several different dogs, my husband, kids, and I still didn't feel like we found OUR dog. We were about to leave when I noticed two sad eyes looking up at me. Her name was Betty, a little black and brown Beagle. She was in bad shape; underweight, heartworm, fleas, mange, and had just had a litter of puppies. My family thought I was crazy when I said, "What about her?" It only took a few minutes for everyone to love her. (It took a little longer to get her healthy!) She is the sweetest dog and it is obvious that she is grateful for the love and attention she is now getting.

We thought that maybe Mindy would like a buddy, so a year later we adopted Jack, another Beagle. Jack was very sweet and very playful and he and Mindy seemed to get along great. We were told that he had a history of running away but we weren't concerned because we had a large fenced in yard. He ran away 4 times! We started to think we made a mistake. But slowly we noticed his behavior changing. He was starting to mellow out and was now running to us instead of out of our yard. We think he started enjoying sitting next to us and having his belly rubbed and getting treats to life on the lam! Almost a year later, he has turned out to be a great dog and we wouldn't give him up for anything. (But we are still careful when we open the front door. That dog is fast!)

Thank you so much for our wonderful pets! Our family just wouldn't be the same without them.
