Here's the happy ending story of Minnie:

We adopted "Minnie", a female Basset Hound, two years ago (this January 2004). We had to let our friend "Maggie" also a friend of our other Basset Hound, Sassy, go to be with her other friends; Sheenah, Muffin and Delphi, to a place where I hope will someday see them again. We introduced "Minnie" to "Sassy", another basset hound, and they became good friends. Sassy was also adopted (sorry-from another shelter). Minnie had a few accidents in the house, in addition to eating holes in some blankets and throw rugs but she is one of the most lovable dogs. She always has to have physical contact with a human being ie, on your lap, with her face right up to you in bed or on the ottoman when I rock our youngest daughter to sleep. She is really great with my children ages 15 months and 6 years old. I'm so glad I came in with my friend to pick up her "adopted girl". I only wish more people could understand the joy a pet (especially a dog or cat) can bring to your life.
