Here's the happy ending story of Peyton:

We got Peyton from T.L.C. Animal Shelter in February(?) of 1997. To make a long story short, we visited T.L.C in the morning looking for a puppy. We were told that they did not have any, but that they expected a litter in that afternoon. Since we had our heart set on a puppy, we drove to another, much larger, area shelter. We went there and looked around - they had alot of puppies but just not the right one. So, disappointed, we got back in the car and headed home. On a whim, we called T.L.C. from the car and asked about the litter. We were told that they had just arrived. So we drove back to T.L.C. to look at them...
At this point it was 2 in the afternoon, my wife and I had to get home because we had to go to work and we had not been to bed yet (we work the night shift). We went to T.L.C. thinking that if we liked a puppy, we'd put it on hold and pick her up another day. Anyway, we got to the shelter and asked to see the puppies. When the puppies were let out of their cage, Peyton walked right up to us. We knew she was the one. So we told the staff that we would like her and before we knew it, they were handing her to us and wishing us good luck. Poor Peyton, we didn't have food for her, let alone a bed or leash or anything, plus we both had to leave for work that night. Not the best planning on our part. Luckily, a relative decided to help us out and bought some stuff for us and "puppy sat" her for us that first night.

She is the most gentle, sweet dog I have ever known. My wife and I are very glad that we decided to share our home with her. We now live with her and Tigger, a yellow lab mixed breed that we rescued from another shelter. We enjoy taking them for walks in the neighborhood during the summer, and watching them play in the yard.

Thanks T.L.C. Animal Shelter for helping us meet one of our very special friends.
