Here's the happy ending story of Skeeter:

In January 2003, my sister noted a listing on your web page for a small terrier about a year old who had been picked up as a stray. We visited TLC to check him out, and that was that -- *Skeeter* came home to join my family!

Skeeter has evolved into 19 pounds of charmer who's quite certain he never met anyone who didn't absolutely love him (except, perhaps, whomever let him become a *stray* in the first place -- a question we often ponder without answer. He's been microshipped to assure that he'll never be lost again in the event of an accident.)

As you can see from the attached photo, he's happily *adopted* older sister Smokie -- another shelter rescue -- and turned her into his own, personal daytime nap matress. Believe it or not, these two also play tug-of-war together, and Skeeter is always fully confident that he's going to win (well, Smokie is pretty good about letting him believe that at least part of the time).

We've learned since adopting him that he is probably toy fox terrier, although whomever decided to dock his tail cut it way too short, leaving him with something more akin to a big toe stuck above his butt -- but that mini-stub wagging back and forth is a sight to bring smiles to *Mom's* heart -- Skeeter has a forever home here for sure!
