Here's the happy ending story of Buddy:
On April 27, 2002 our family went to check out a dog we had seen on your website. I walked in and gave the number, and you said "we know names, not numbers". A good indicator of a caring shelter. Although that particular dog wasn't right for us, your staff listened to what we wanted and suggested a 2 1/2 year old beagle named Buddy. Previously we had a bad experience from [another animal shelter] with a beagle... In contrast your staff knew their animals and how to match successfully. We adopted Buddy that day and he is a great dog. He is patient and loving with our 3 year old daughter. Friendly to everyone he meets. Although Buddy was initially a tad overweight he is trimming down nicely. He gets alot of exercise by accompanying me on my 45 minute walk twice a day and keeping our backyard a squirrel free zone. Buddy is a playful guy and loves to play fetch and tug of war. His favorite game is for us to chase him when he is carrying one of his many stuffed animals. The incredible thing about that is he doesn't take any of our daughter's many stuffed animals. We have started Buddy in obedience school and he is doing well. Basically he is a polite puppy but has selective hearing and we need to work on that. As you can see from the photo he has won over my husband who didn't really want a dog.
We just wanted to thank you for helping us select the perfect pet. We love our newest family member and look forward to spending a long happy life together. Also we wanted to assure you and his previous owners that Buddy is living large now and has a wonderful life. He has even gotten filet mignon leftovers for being such a good boy!
