YOU Were There When They Needed You
We want to thank everyone who opened their hearts up to the animals and through your generosity allowed us to keep taking animals in that desperately needed our help. We all know that times are very tough now, and we really appreciate your generosity, when you heard about our needs. We have been able to help 350 animals since our last mailing to you some of them would have died had you not cared.

This young cat was one of the animals you helped save. He was found in a vacant apartment a week after his owners had moved out. They left him without any food or water, he was literally starving to death when he was rescued! After we got him back on his feet he became ready for adoption, and is now enjoying life with the loving family, that adopted him, thanks to all of you!

This 4 month old Black Lab pup had been abandoned in the dead of winter. We treated him for a severe eye infection, which had been brought from being left in the zero degree weather. Fortunately he did not suffer from any frostbite. He is presently at the Shelter awaiting adoption. I know if you were here he would give you a big puppy kiss, his way of saying thanks!

I know when you first take a look at this picture you will wonder what is it? This poor old dog was brought to us in such matted condition, that it was hard to distinguish one end from the other! Dennis Carter Jr. with the help of Dan Zak took on the task of trying to get the dog trimmed, which wasnít easy, since they could barely get the clippers through the matted hair, but as you can see they didnít give up. What Dennis is holding out in the picture is the continuos clump of hair they removed. The little dog has since been adopted, and he is living happily with his new owner.

This stray dog had been wandering around the area for several days. It was apparent she was due to deliver pups any day, but without food or shelter she and the pups would have a very slim chance of surviving. She was very fortunate though, a good Samaritan brought her to TLC. She delivered her pups two days after she had been brought in. Eight weeks later the pups were adopted out one by one and soon after Mom got a home too! Thank you again for your help!

This cat was found outside huddled against the building, attempting to break the gusty cold wind that had been whipping at her body. She was sustaining herself with whatever meager scraps she could find in the garbage, but her rescuers were afraid that she couldnít endure the cold much longer. Again the doors of TLC opened wide to accept one more animal in need. Thanks for making that possible for this cat and so many others that we have been able to provide shelter and care for during this extremely cold winter.

We appreciate all you have done to help us out, but we are a far cry from being out of the woods. The Shelter is still in a crisis situation financially. In January due to the extreme cold, we were clobbered with a $525.00 gas bill, not to mention the other utilities and supplies needed to provide good care for the animals. As the bills roll in we wonder how we will be able to pay them, but then our thoughts are diverted by another animal at the door in need. They depend on us, and we depend on you. Thank you for all you have done, to help us meet their needs! We know you wonít let the animals down, your generosity is vital for their well being..
