Shelter News from Shorty the Cat's Point of View

SHORTY'S MEW-SINGS

Hi!
ZzzzzzzZzzzzz ZzzzzzZzzzzzz ZzzzzzZzzzzz
"Shorty! What is going on here? I thought you were supposed to be interviewing Daisy and Joy so they could tell you all about their buddy Chris Ader and all the training she has been going through to help the animals at TLC. And what do I find when I walk in, all three of you fast asleep!"
Honest. I WAS interviewing Joy and Daisy, but as they reiterated how hard Chris was preparing for the Quad City Marathon all three of us were ready to collapse. Daisy said Chris usually trains in the morning often getting up at 4:00 a.m. Chris would do short runs at Waterfall Glen on Sundays, which is a total of 9 3/4 miles. 9 3/4 miles! WHEW! I have all I can do to finish TLC's walkathon which is three miles long!
"Shorty if you ever finished the shelter's walkathon it had to have been in your dreams."
Okay so maybe I dreamt it, but that should count! But getting back to Chris, Joy and Daisy said the Quad City Marathon starts and ends in Moline, covering four cities, three bridges, going into two states and across the Mississippi River!
"WOW! Now I can understand why you guys fell asleep. I can't fathom how anyone could have that much stamina."
Daisy and Joy said that the one thing that spurs Chris on is the fact that she is not running for herself, she is running the race to raise money for the animals at TLC. We're all rooting for you Chris, and will update you on how Chris fared in the next issue of Paw Prints.
"Shorty before I forget, you better tell our friends that we had another problem with our mailing list. I know it has been a year of chaos getting it straightened out, but this time it wasn't a computer glitch, it was a Shorty glitch."
Oh that's not funny, calling it a Shorty glitch.
"I think you have to explain to some of our friends why their address changes were not made, and since you were the cause of this problem, it's up to you to explain what happened."
I can't help it if someone left the papers with the address changes on the desk along with a milk shake, obviously a dangerous combination.
"Shorty, that in itself is not be a dangerous combination, but adding you to the mixture was."
Okay I admit the milk shake looked awfully tempting, and I knew that the ice cream was starting to melt, so what was I to do? On top of it the milk shake seemed to be calling my name "Shorty", so what was I to do? I opened the top of the milk shake the best I could and drank it!
"Sure, milk shakes talk just like I've seen cows fly. Shorty that is one of the craziest excuses you have ever come up with. I also noted that you omitted the part about spilling the milk shake all over the desk drenching the papers with the address changes on them."
I tried licking it up the best I could, and then asked Sam to help me clean up the rest...
"Shorty just forget it, and tell everyone about TLC's annual Holiday Magic Craft Show coming up on the 10th of November."
By the way Shorty what are you and the kittens going to make for it this year?
Sam, this year we were asked to leave the crafting up to our people friends out there.
How come Shorty? You and the kittens always have so much fun crafting together.
Our people friends said we have TOO much fun. The last time we worked on stuff for the craft show, the office got covered with glitter and the kittens' paws were full of glue which they ended up tracking all over the place. I must admit it was quite a mess. Anyway I have included all of the information about it on the next page. But one thing that hasn't changed, my offer still stands to sample any baked goods if you would like me to critique them for you.
"SHORTY!"
Can't blame a guy for trying, well I gotta run!
Love,

Shorty

PS. Mrs. Konow can you save some of those catnip balls you make for me?
"SHORTY!!!!"
Good grief foiled again!
