Mama and Daddy
by Barbara Philbrook

Mama and Daddy you mean so very much to me,
I count on your love and your stability.

You taught me to live my life the right way,
to daily go to the Heavenly Father to pray.

To do unto others as I would like done to me,
and that by believing in God I am set free.

You taught me the rules were to be obeyed,
and that you still loved me even if I strayed.

You showed me things in life aren't perfect and right,
but in each day I can find delight.

You taught me through Jesus I am strong,
and no matter what I face He'll help me along.

You gave me the direction I needed,
even though some of it I foolishly never heeded.

But of this one thing I am sure,
when I need it most those memories I will not ignore.

We are heading over some rough roads in our life,
but Jesus promises to help us in strife.

Please know I am here whenever you have a need,
you needn't ever beg or plead.

Call on me I will always be strong,
because my Savior Jesus will be coming along.

Yes Mama and Daddy you are the best,
I am here to stand beside you through any test.
