My Jesus, I Love You
by Barbara Philbrook

My Jesus, I love you. I am more sure of this each day,
I am upheld by your loving, caring way.

I read in the Bible of what you did for me,
I accepted, though it's logic was more than I could see.

We started on a journey where you taught me to live a new way,
I have learned it's better when I kneel each day to pray.

Sometimes I stumble and I've had a fall or two,
but over time I'm brought back to my feet by you.

There have been lessons that were difficult to learn,
there were truths that you had to help me to discern.

Our relationship expands as time moves on,
I find in fact that you are what my thoughts most often dwell upon.

It's important that I know your thoughts and I do all you wish of me,
I pray that I can serve you throughout eternity.

At first I felt gratitude and some degree of  love,
but now I want to emanate you, inviting others above.

Once it was myself and those I love that I desired accept you,
but now my heart aches if even one rejects what's true.

My love grows deeper and far more sincere,
accept my submission so I may invite others, your love to share.
