My Savior
by Barbara Philbrook

I'd like to share with you the story of my precious Savior,
he came to die on a cross for me despite my sinful behavior.

He came from his home on high where he reigned in honor and glory,
to be tested, disrespected, and not quite totally rejected is his story.

But you see the love which he and the father have for us is so perfect and complete,
that what it would cost him didn't matter he came here so Satan he'd defeat.

When someone like you or I give up anything we have for the benefit of others we love,
that's a generous gift but doesn't compare to our gift from above.

To be rejected and despised by those you gave up so much to save,
to be ridiculed, tried, and crucified then put in a borrowed grave.

Especially for souls that are unworthy and totally filled with sin,
this is a fact that our incompetent brains can't comprehend till the Holy Spirit comes in.

After Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day,
he said he had to go home to the Lord but  sent the Holy Spirit to stay.

Now Jesus is there making us mansions in which we are to dwell,
and all he'd like from us is acceptance of him and sharing his story as well.

So if while glancing on these verses an interest has been stirred,
just pick up a Bible and read the Gospels it's the most beautiful story ever heard!
