WELCOME
We hope you enjoy our site and learn a few things more then before you arrived. It has been 20 years October 1998 since we first started birding and breeding. Out first parrot was a double yellowhead Amazon. We purchased him from pet store in New Jersey. After searching for the *perfect* pet, we decided to go back to this one pet shop and purchase this 4 month old little guy. We named him *Cisco*. Cisco had 3 toe nails and one toe missing. We just had to bring this parrot home and hope we could give him a happy life that we felt he deserved. After having him home for one day the pet shop burnt down to the ground, killing all the other animals that were in the shop. It was a very sad situation, however we saved this little guy and to this day Cisco is happy & healthy getting around just fine after 20 yrs. He turned out to be a She and is very happily married to Brandy a beautiful male.

A few years later we were told about a wonderful farm that carried the best in bird food, so off we went. The *Farm* was full of every bird you could imagine. From parakeets to macaws. Well needless to say, this is where it began. We ended up with over 40 parakeets and 20 nest boxes by the end of the year. After 6 months we added finches and cockatiels to our family of parrots. Also at this farm was a greenwing macaw, HUGE and Beautiful. His name was Elmer. We noticed that the people working there would walk past him and and say nothing to him at all except a few nasty negitive remards. After a lengthy conversation with the owners, we found that Elmer was abused and not wanted due to his nastiness and intimidating size. Elmer came home with us that day and and the rest of our story goes like this;

Parrot Bay Aviary is a family owned business and all our babies are handfed and raised on our premises. The enjoyment that's received from these intelligent animals are unbelivable. Each one of them are named and loved, however, so very hard to let go.

We feed all our babies Lafeber Handfeeding Formual from day one. Some species are raised by the parents for the first two weeks then pulled from the nest and hand fed. This depends on the parent birds capability of caring for their young. Our aviary is vet checked on a monthly basis by wonderful qualified vet from our area. We highly recommend 2 Veteranian hospitals for the care of your parrot if your in the Jersey area. Both are very knowledgable doctors that not only know what they are doing but they CARE about the animals. Email us for more information and their locations.

Parrot Bay Aviary is now breeding many different species of parrots. We have an average of 400 babies a year. Many pictures you will see on our pages are not our pictures, however we breed these species. Due to a lack of being a camera person, I couldn't provide pictures of our own birds. Visit our web page from time to time to see the updates of our own parrots. The great friends I have met over the years on the net have provided many of the pictures on our page and they were kindly offered to us. At this time I want to give a big *THANK YOU* to all of the generous and kind friends for their help and support. Please note under the pictures are their names and web pages (if available) for you to visit. It was also the encouragement of these friends that motivated us to get our web page up to share with everyone our true love for these precious animals that society has chosen to place in our homes and hearts to have as pets. Enjoy !

This picture was taken 21 yrs ago at Parrot Jungle, Miami Florida. We were so taken by the beauty of these macaws that this picture was enlarged and framed. It is now on the wall of our nursery to enjoy everyday. Little did we know then what our future was to bring as many of these beauties are part of our family and we treasure each and everyone of them.
Happy Birding !
