Foundation dogs are sought religiously for breeding programs, but many times are just a lucky happenstance! This was the case with Ch. Radnor's Odin, bought as a 3 month old pup with show potential ... not only did he become a champion, but the few litters he sired before his untimely death gave us great producers as well. As you can see from the following pictures, Ollie stamped his type on our dogs through several generations!

Ch. Radnor's Odin
(Ch. Nonesuch Image of Sam Radnor x Radnor's Pahkt)     (1981 - 1985)

Ollie was Ann's first show dog, and what a dog he turned out to be! Ann showed Ollie to his major wins, including specialty wins, as a novice exhibitor ... Dorothy finished him with a 4th major when Ann couldn't make a show because of work.
Ann sent Ollie to Pat Keen in California as a special, but he wasn't shown that heavily and come home in a year's time. He was taken to Ann's veterinarian for teeth cleaning, but an overdose of anesthesia caused his untimely death. In just a few litters, however, Ollie give us a strong foundation. He will always be missed.

Ch. Orlane-Elan Ovation
(Ch. Radnor's Odin x Glengonners Love Story UK)    (1984 - 1996)

Ozer was the Grand Sweepstakes winner at the DVYTC Specialty at the AKC Centennial Show from the 9 to12 mo. class in 1984. From there he went to California to be shown by Pat Keen. He won the open class at YTCGLA, and went reserve to a pup shown by Pat.
Ozer returned home to finish his title several months later, and became one of our top sires and foundation dogs at Orlane-Elan.

Ch. Orlane-Elan Augustus
(Ch. Orlane-Elan Ovation x Highgate Overkill)
(1986 -1998)

Gus was a great little show dog who never let us down. Best of Winners at YTCA, NY 1989, he was never specialed - however, he won Breeds and Group placements from the classes on his way to the title.
His look-alike grandson, Orlane-Elan Wouldbe King carries on this winning tradition and can be seen in the rings today. Gus was one of a small, select group of dogs going back to the old Wildweir and Radnor lines on whom we've based our present bloodlines

Ch. Orlane-Elan Grand Larceny(1987 - 2001) (Ch. Cupoluv Fair Le Grand x Orlane-Elan Allure)

Although we've lost our Andy, he's very much evident in his grandchildren - he lived a good 14 years, active and looking for trouble! A grand old man, he has given us some of our best producers with wonderful attitude.

Reserve Winners at the NY Specialty, Andy won his title handily - his lovely dark silk with rich golds made him a favorite with many, and he helds his color well until he left us.

Ch. Orlane-Elan Isn't That Special  (1987 - 1997)
(Ch. Orlane-Elan Augustus x Orlane-Elan Cinnebar)

Teddy was very special to us - a Group winner, pointed at a Specialty, and BB from the classes! What made him special was his wonderful temperament and attitude ... he loved the show ring, and he got along with his doggy pals, young and old. Don't get me wrong, I like "bad" Yorkies too - love to see them sparring in the ring! But it's nice to have a male that isn't challenging everyone, too!      It aches to remember these guys - so vibrant and full of life in their prime - ten or fifteen years just isn't long enough, is it ...

Ch. Orlane-Elan Special Edition
(1987 - 2000)

(Ch. Orlane-Elan Augustus x Orlane-Elan Cinnebar)

Corky finished to the title shortly after his brother Teddy ... both lovely dogs. Richard Sedlack handled Corky to his championship (which accounts for the "Poodle" topknot!)
Since we had both brothers, we allowed a "friend" to take Corky and a couple of girls to extend our breeding program with some puppies back. We will never make that mistake again! Not only did we not get any pups back, we couldn't even get Corky home - such a waste. You wonder why some people seem to have no principles at all, don't you?

Ch. Orlane-Elan Polo (1986 - )
(Ch. Cupoluv's Fair Le Grand x Hannah of Parlu)

Polo and his litter sister Cinnebar provided us with an outcross line to bring in some charac-teristics we felt were needed - wonderful silk texture and color, and beautiful bites with full dentition. A true "character", Polo finished at the Rock Creek supported entry in 1988 handled by Bonnie Myrick under breeder/judge Betty Dullinger. Polo loved people, but he never backed away from a fight with any dog!
A tough old man, he managed to tell us about any ladies in season until the end - we miss him!

Ch. Orlane-Elan Vindication (1988 - 1998)
Ch. Orlane-Elan Ovation - Orlane-Elan Cinnebar)

Specialty BB's, Group Winner, and numerous breeds put Vince in the #5 spot nationally when Wayne Baker campaigned him.

What a beautiful silk coat Vince had ... he was such a sound, good moving dog with style - solid and substantial. He began to exhibit bronzing in his coat, and was criticized for running gold. I wonder how many little black, wooly dogs with no running gold win every year? Isn't texture more important than color in the long run? We think so!
