Sleeping Beauty
Once upon a time . . . far, far away
In the land of Mericore . . .
 | A baby princess was born. People from all around came to wish the baby well - including the three good fairies - Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. | |
 | But Malificent wasn't invited and this angered her. She cast a spell that by the child's 16th birthday, she would prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die! |
 | But the fairies had one more gift to give and Merryweather gave her the gift of sleep, not death, to be wakened by "Love's First Kiss". So the fairies lived as peasant women in the woods and raised the child - they called her "Aurora Rose". | |
 | Aurora Rose grew into a beautiful woman. While the fairies were planning a surprise party for her 16th birthday, they sent Aurora Rose out to pick berries. |
 | While in the woods, Aurora Rose visits with her friends, the pixies (ok - some artistic license was taken and the forest animals were changed to pixies). My personal favorite pixie is on the far right! |
 | The pixies remind Aurora Rose to never give up! "Miracles happen when you believe!" |
|
 | Prince Phillip happens along and hears Aurora Rose and the pixies singing and dancing. They meet and instantly fall in love. |
| Well, as the story goes, Aurora finds out that not only is she a princess, but she is bethrothed to be married. Saddened that she will never see her true love again, she cries and while she is alone, Malificant calls the princess up to the last spinning wheel in the land and she pricks her finger and falls asleep! The good fairies find that Malificent has captured Prince Phillip and the fairies help him to escape and conquer the evil dragon that Malificent becomes. The fairies take Prince Phillip to where Aurora Rose is sleeping and with loves first kiss - she awakes . . . and
|
. . .They live happily ever after!

|
 | Jennifer's old classmate, Scarlett, also made the play. Over 70 kids tried out for fewer than 40 parts. We were so proud that Jennifer worked so hard and did such a good job! |
 | She made several new friends too! |
 | These are just some of the flowers that Jennifer received over her 11 performance run! Watch out Broadway . . . Jennifer may be there before you know it! |
