Dear Friends,

As of Sunday, August 17, 2003, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, the EpiscoTalk discussion forum will cease to exist.  I am deeply saddened by what I see as the Episcopal Church's descent into apostasy and heresy in recent years, and most notably by the events of the recent General Convention.  As an orthodox Christian, I don't feel that I can continue to dedicate time, talent and treasure...all of which have been represented by EpiscoTalk during the past seven years...to a church that values cultural relativism over God's Word as revealed in the Scriptures.  There is a time to stand and fight and a time to shake the dust from one's shoes and move on.  I have done my share of fighting, and I am weary beyond belief.  The time to move on has come.

There was a time when the Episcopal Church stood firmly on the three legs of Scripture, Tradition and Reason.   Today, however, tradition is sneered at, scripture is reduced to literature, and reason has been replaced by relativism and political correctness.  We are left without a leg to stand on, and the enemy is rejoicing!  It's an empty joy, however...he may have won this skirmish, but thank God, we know who will win the war.

If you are looking for information or discussion on these issues, may I recommend the following:

Anglo-Catholic Central (includes discussion forum)

Anglican Mission in America

The Anglican Province of Christ the King

Anglicans On-Line

Episcopal News Service

Orthodox Episcopal Bulletin Board (discussion forum)

Episcopal Voices (discussion forum)

ChristianVeg (discussion forum...hosted by VegSource, but non-vegetarians are very welcome!)

To those of you who have been participants in EpiscoTalk over the years (even if you only lurked), it's been a privilege to walk with you for this brief while.  I hope we will continue to meet in cyberspace, perhaps on one of these other forums, and I look forward to meeting you in person someday...in this world or in the next.

Finally, let me add a disclaimer...EpiscoTalk is gone.  Should you discover another site using this name, it is either an unmonitored "emergency" board that I haven't been able to take down yet, or some new board that has nothing to do with me or with the original EpiscoTalk forum.

May God bless all of you, and draw us all into a closer walk with Him.

As always, In His Service,

Audrey Nickel
