I'm newly on line and was just cruisin around to see what all is out there. I do Doberman Rescue in No.Ca. and have had many special dogs pass through my house. I am Secretary of Shasta K.C. and handle the club phone. I encourage all callers to consider a rescue from the breed they are interested in. Just today I've been working on finding homes for 2 min.sch. and a Gr.Dane. Dobies are my breed and I've been involved for about 15 years. I've never turned away a dobie in need and have always learned something special from each dog. Hopefully, with continued public education, owners will become more responsible in selecting a family pet and will s/n. We NDR tattoo all our pups as well as the rescues and feel that will hopefully keep anything we produce from ending their life in a shelter. Thank God there are concerned people out there who will not take no for an answer when dealing with shelters. Gracies story is certainly a sad one but she sure fulfilled her purpose. Take care. I have a 9 year old red female named Rusty. She was a run away from an abusive home. I call her my gift from God because it was Christmas eve the first time she showed up on my front door step. At the time, I had a ten year old German Shepard. For some eason Rusty decided that she wanted to live with us. It took 3 months of her running away to finally win her freedom. Love your sight. I found your link from Doberworld. I had e-mailed the list but never heard back, I'm probably doing something wrong. I have loved dobies all my life. They have always played a part in it.I have a physical handicap.(cerebral palsy) and I'v found this breed to be the best companion; intelligent, loving, and very understanding. I read your story on how your shelter got it's name and I cried, it was so touching. We just lost our sweet dobie [Dixie] as we had to have her put down because of health problems and my husband held her in his arms when she got the shot. My dobie was called Herbie. I had bim for 8 1/2 years. He was my neice's dog but she was unable to keep him. Herbie was wonderful with children and other dogs, and horses, but not cats. I miss him a lot.

I have had Dobermans for several years and lost my female to cancer in June. I use to breed Dobermans when I lived in Fl. They are the best dogs I have ever had or been around and recommend them to anyone. I am hoping to find the right dog to adopt so I an give these beautiful animals a loving home. It breaks my heart to see how many of the dogs that have been left behind by their owners. These dogs give their heart and soul to their owners!!!

My wife and I are dog lovers of any breed and saved two of the best pound puppies (Actually Border Collie and Husky mixes) from the pound just before Christmas. It was a litter of 6 puppies..no mother. Had to tell my wife.."Only two..Only Two!" Anyhow, it is great to see there are more like us out there. Keep up the good work.
