The following poem was written by David's Grandmother, Roberta.

Happy Birthday Grandson

Gone is the face we loved so dear,
Silent is the voice we loved to hear
Too far away for sight or speech
But not too far for thoughts to reach.

Sweet to remember him
who once was here
Who, though absent, is just as dear.
to have, to love and then to part
Is the greatest sorrow of our heart
His death was a heartache no one can heal
His memory a keepsake no one can steal.

It's February - your birthday
it seems as if you are only away
Sailing the seas and you'll give us a call
then I find myself hitting the wall
Your voice is stilled,
but still I hear it in my dreams
You are now a guardian angel
You are the star that brightly gleams
Snow is on the ground
but I know you are warm in God's arms
If it be God's will
we will meet again
Slow down, don't walk so fast
I'm just on the other side of the hill

We love you, Grandson Written for the family in memory of David A. Gugel, son, brother, grandson and father, you will always be in our hearts. We love you.
