The EMU is the oddest bird,
Her wings are really quite absurd;
She cannot fly, but only run,
Though p'raps to her, that's much more fun.
To draw her you first sketch an egg,
Then add to that a bare long leg.
She cannot run with one, you'll find,
So add another on behind
Her neck is long and rather thin,
Topped by a head that lacks a chin.
Her feathers are a brownish grey,
So colour them in just that way.
And now you've draw a famous bird
Of whom all children should have heard,
For she displays her awkard charms
Upon Australia's coat of arms.
