A TRIBUTE TO MONTY

DaBoyz

These words were written as a loving tribute. On July 17, 1998, Monty was released from his prison of pain and sent to the Rainbow Bridge.

The wound in his head had caused a major trauma to his brain. We never knew! He never showed his discomfort or his pain... Whether tumour or scar tissue will never be known.

Monty bit a child, not severely..but he did BITE.. Tracey rushed him to the vet.. She also had him with a pet communicator. The communicator said all she could tell was that he was in a LOT of pain..The end of the story is that there was no hope.

We love him still...and grieve for him still..as does Tracey and her family. He gave so much to have come from so little. He was so special in so many ways. There will never be another Monty.

I can see his crooked ear and happpy grin even now. Those of you who have lost your Dane friends, you understand. The hope we hold is that they are at the Rainbow Bridge telling Mom and Dad and Kids stories.

I love you Monty. We all do.. Corky is inconsolable.. He remembers your "tickles" and how you loved HIM.... Please be happy where ever you are. Say "hey" to Athena.. You are always on our minds.

From "Neptune" to "Monty", from Mississippi, to Louisiana, to Texas.. What happiness he had...and shared.

......and who could ask for a better Dane pal than Katy..!!! (Is that MOM asleep on the couch??? Uh oh...looks like playtime now!!!)

When he arrived at our house in September of 1997, he bore physical and emotional signs of severe abuse.

This photo was taken about 2 weeks after being retrieved from Mississippi

Here you can see the open bullet wound in the top of his head.

Even though the wound seemed to heal quickly, he ended up having two more sessions with our good Dr. Joe. Gangrene had set in underneath the healed skin.

IN the end, this is what caused him to suffer so.
