ALL MY
CHILDREN
I did not intend to become a foster parent. I had
no plans to take in foster children.I had my hands
full taking care of a home, a husband, and two
pre-school children of my own. I had no thoughts or
desire for anything more, certainly not for taking in
someone else's children. But a series of events lead
me to give a home to my first foster child.
Having been raised in a wonderful home with caring
parents and a large loving extended family, I had
really never been aware that all children were not
similarly blessed. But I learned. I learned far more
than I ever wanted to know. I learned that all
children are not loved and cherished. I learned that
some children were unloved, and lonely and hurting. I
learned that some children suffered terrible abuse,
both physically and emotionally. But the worst thing
I learned was that even when the abuse was stopped,
the suffering went on. The lucky ones learn to live
with the hidden pain and go on to lead good lives in
spite of it. Some are not so lucky. They cannot get
beyond it and their lives are colored by a past over
which they had no control.
Through the years I fostered 15 children for
varying lengths of time. My children did not all
succeed, and even for those that did, there are
problems that should not be. I had 15 children so
there are 15 stories. Read their stories. Cry for my
children.
Pray for them. But most of all find a way to play
some small part in putting an end to one of
mankind's greatest tragedies, the abuse of their
children.
On this page you will find links to websites
which
can show how you could help. It is going to take me
some time to finish this site as I have fifteen
stories to tell. I will put each story up as soon as
it is finished.
