CAMPAIGN TO END THE NHS
'TREATMENT BY POSTCODE' LOTTERY

If you really want something done about funding of treatment in your area, only you can do it.

Write to the Chairman or the Chief Executive of your Health Authority - if you need the address click here - Health Authorities

and send a copy to your MP – don’t know who your MP is? – click here to find out - Members of Parliament

We would ask you to make the following points in your letter:

· State that you believe infertility is a health need (The United Nations says reproductive health is "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity in all matters relating to the reproductive system and to its functions and processes".) and a full range of treatments should be provided and funded on the basis of need.

· Ask the Health Authority to justify its current policy and request a review of it.

· Explain what effect the low level, or lack, of funded treatment is having on you and other patients you may know of.

· Ask the Health Authority to request national guidance on funding of fertility services from the Department of Health so that a full range of treatments is available throughout the country.

Your letter will make a difference, so please don't leave it to someone else - write now!
