and send a copy to your MP – don’t know who your MP is? – click here to find out - Members of Parliament We would ask you to make the following points in your letter:· State that you believe infertility is a health need (The United Nations says reproductive health is "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity in all matters relating to the reproductive system and to its functions and processes".) and a full range of treatments should be provided and funded on the basis of need.
· Ask the Health Authority to justify its current policy and request a review of it.
· Explain what effect the low level, or lack, of funded treatment is having on you and other patients you may know of.
· Ask the Health Authority to request national guidance on funding of fertility services from the Department of Health so that a full range of treatments is available throughout the country.
