36 Canadian far from home DH 40, UK born and bred with 2 great teenage daughters B.C. (Before CB!) ttc 3 years or so, mild Endo, had Lap, HSG, D&C I also have cysts. DH also diagnosed with borderline sperm count & weak swimmers! I was on the NHS waiting list from hell and wasn't even due for another Consultant's Appt until August but the info and wisdom from this group got me kicking butt and I got a second opinion and second Doctor in March and became pregnant (May 99) from my first Clomid cycle, sadly miscarried, June 1999. While waiting for the OK before trying treatment again, we found out we conceived naturally and are praying all will go well with an EDD of May 2000 (17 September 1999)

Presently: Trying again from this weekend "naturally - for 6 months" and then ivf again Future: Lots of talking if "naturally" and 2^nd ivf fails and probably resignation to that this just is not going to happen. @ 21 May 1999

DH Martin Both aged 32 TTC for 7+ years Undiagnosed IF TX includes over the years...... Clomid, Injections with TI, 2# IUI, 1IVF where none fertilised, 1IVF ICSI but got OHSS, then this month finally made it to a frozen transfer only for it to end in a chemical pregnancy. Pretty fed up at the moment. Wanted to do another transfer a.s.a.p.(still have 8 frozen embryos) but clinic say I need several cycles for everything to return to normal, so we're waiting again. IF certainly teaches patience if nothing else but I think my reserves are low at the moment. My clinic is in Sheffield.@ 21 May 1999

Hertford, Clomid, DW went to the Doctor's about the lack of periods. He asked "Were we thinking of trying for a child" and she said "we would like to" and then hey presto, you're on the infertility train rather than the amenorrhoea train. I guess in hindsight, we SHOULD have got that sorted out first, but then we would not have our little girl and so I suppose that we have to get on with things from here. Maybe we shouldhave tried to get the periods sorted out now, but DW has decided she would like to try for another child first. @ 21 May 1999

30 1 child born May 1995 (natural conception - only 1 month of trying) TTC since May 1996 Periods infrequent - once every 3 months, sometimes longer. First saw GP in March 1997, referred to hospital from there. Had blood tests - first set not good thought prem. menopause, however tested me again and results normal. 3 cycles of clomid 50mg (periods reasonably regular on clomid) 3 cylces of clomid 100 mg October 1997 put on NHS waiting list for lap & dye - still waiting I know I have to count my blessings since I have a child, who is loved with all my heart but I would so much like him to have a brother or sister. 31 ttc 2 years. I am 'only' annovulatory and take clomid. With the NHS, my dosage went up to 150mg a month to little effect.went ‘private' then found that I do produce 'beefy' follicles I am back down to 50mg of clomid coupled with the profasi shot - no success. @ 21 May 1999

29 DH Michael 32. Live in Croydon, Surrey. TTC 3 years. Severe PCOS. Tried Clomid and Metrodin / IUI (3 cycles). Only managed to ovulate once! First IVF in June 1999. FET in July 1999. 2nd IVF in September 1999. Very variable reaction to drugs. If not successful then will go for laser diathermy in December. Considering Metformin.@ 17 September 1999

27 I have been ttc for 8 years now.I have blocked tubes. Two years ago I had tubal surgery but one blocked straight away again. I tried Clomid for 6 months and have now just completed my first IVF attempt in Bristol which sadly failed. We should be trying another cycle within the next couple of months.@ 17 September 1999

DH Stephen. I have primary ammenoreah and have been trying for children for over 16 years with 4 IVF cycles and 2 miscarriages in between. My dearest wish is to find someone who suffers from the same complaint as myself, but to date I have not been successful in doing this. Lap & Ovarian Diathermy/drilling & dx of PCO (Dec 1998), no Ovulation still so no success. 4 mths injectables (Menogon) for Ov.
