My kitties

These are pictures of my adorable kitties. =)

This is Tigger. She's my pride and joy! She just loves to nestle in my hair and give me BIG hugs and cuddles all the time. =) I've had her since she was just a kitten, and she rules the house and keeps the other cats and my kids in line. =)

Update:

Tigger was 8 1/2 when she passed away peacefully in my arms after an unsuccessful surgery to repair a fatty liver.

Tigger lead a comfortable although sometimes hard life. I left the Yukon, Canada and had to leave her and Simba behind. I left them both with someone I thought was a friend. It turns out he wasn't that great of a friend because he skipped town and dropped both cats on the doorstep of the locally infamous "cat lady". They stayed there for a couple weeks while I frantically searched for them and they eventually escaped together. As they were both crossing a road, Simba was hit by a car. The car ran off, but someone living in a house nearby saw the "accident" and called the by-law officers. Tigger stayed by Simba's side for the 4 hours it took to find him. Unfortunately, his injuries were quite severe and he had to be put down. The by-law officers couldn't bear the thought of putting Tigger down after knowing that she had been faithful to him to the end. They posted big signs all over her cage that read Do NOT Euthanize.

It was about 3 days later when I finally found her and made arrangements to bring her to live with me. I am so thankful to those by-law officers and by the look on her face when she arrived on the plane, she was too!

She will always be my little princess.

These are the babies of the household. On a whim one day, I went to the local animal shelter and looked at the cats they had. Rex (the black and grey one) was just so cute, I had to have him! Simba (the orange one was a little scared, and with having a 3 year old in the house, I didn't think it would be a good idea to bring him home. I asked if I could adopt Rex, but he wasn't available for another 3 days, so home I went...no kitties. =(
I went back on the day he was available for adoption, cat cage in hand, but when I went to get him, Simba was purring and meowing like crazy as if he recognized me. I had to...I took them BOTH!! =)

Update:

Rex passed away from a urinary infection about 3 1/2 years ago. I miss Rex dearly. I have since taken in another male cat who is constantly going through the same types of infections and however sad it may be that Rex is no longer with us, his illnesses have helped me to keep Alex alive.

Rex was a curious kitty. He was always wanting to check out what I was doing. He ended up being a black and grey tabby with pink spots after a few bouts with the paint can, rollers and brushes while I was redecorating. That was an interesting sight! :o)

As I mentioned above, Simba passed away after some unscrupulous driver hit him. The driver of the car did not even stop to see if he was ok or to call anyone to help. :( I wasn't there at the time, but I like to think that having Tigger by his side made his transition a little more comfortable.
