NOTE: I have included various spellings because upon looking at the original patent record on some of these, it was quite obvious that the name was spelled with an "S" instead of an "L". In other cases, where it wasn't obvious, I included the listing if there were other Souder/Sowder's living in that particular county. Since I did not include every listing of Louder/Lowder, you may want to check the actual records at the BLM web site.
This only proves that when you're looking for records on your Souder/Sowder ancestors you have to taken into consideration different ways of spelling the name or interpretation when transcribing records.
