I have a handwritten sheet of paper that appears to have possibly been copied from a bible; however,  I do not know who generated it.  Maybe someone knows where it came from, and what family it pertains to.

At the top there are two arrows pointing to Jacob & Polly and it says "Grate Grand Father & Mother."

Early Settlers of Claiborne County, By P. G. Fulkerson

"The Pioneer Snuffer came prior to 1800 to Oldtown, Claiborne, Co. He married Elizabeth Garrett of Penn., who was the daughter of Mary and David Garrett. The children of Snuffer were: David; Polly, who married Jacob Sowder; Nancy; Jacob. (See County Court Record, 1809.) . . . ."

"Jacob Sowder came from Va. to what is now Middlesboro, Ky. about 1800. He married Polly Snuffer. Their children were: Daniel, who married Polly Brummet; Nancy, married John Marsee; Pruda; Betsy, married Jonathan Parton; William, married Sallie Brummet; Kate, married Jack Parton; Jacob, married Suda Ausmus.

Jacob and Harrison Sowder of this county, now old men, are the sons of Daniel Sowder."

CARVED WITH A KNIFE at Pittsburg, a few days ago Emanuel SOUDERS and Frank REED fell out over $2.00 which SOUDERS claimed that REED owed him, in which difficulty REED was considerably carved up and his recovery is doubtful.
