There are many ways that pet owners can get closer to their cat and bond with them creating an everlasting friendship between feline and human. A few techniques are listed here.
- Greet your cat face to face. Then rub and
stroke your cat, causing the two of you to actually exchange scents.
- Do not stroke a nervous cat until it has
relaxed.
- When you talk to your cat, repeat its name and use
the same tone each time you converse with your cat. In that way, your cat learns and understands when you are speaking to it.
- Touch is very important. So be sure to touch your
cat often and give it plenty of love and attention.
- When getting to know your new cat, feed it
frequently in order to build a bond between you and
your cat.
- Do not feed your cat food straight from the
refrigerator. Let it set until it is room temperature.
- Provide a safe, warm spot for your cat until it
feels secure in its environment and gathers up the courage
to roam about its new surroundings.
- Place the litter pan in a safe area and purchase a litter your cat likes.
