SIGHT, SOUND AND SMELL



Sight, sound and smell deeply affect the cat's nature. Here are a few examples:

• Strong perfume affects the cat's sense of smell.
  
  
• Staring is an act of aggression among cats. Blinking is a reassuring action.
  
  
• If your cat's pupils are dilated, it is a sign of fear - so move slowly and quietly.
  
  
• Twitching ears and swishing tail are signs of anxiety and anger.
  
  
• Our voices only register at the bottom portion of a cat's hearing range. To get your cat's attention, use a higher vocal range.
  
  
• Sometimes bringing in new carpet or furniture may have a dramatic effect on the cat. This may give the cat the desire to bring things back to "normal" by spraying its own smell over them.
