NOTE:  Corrections made 07/01/06 from information received from Eleanor Edmondson a serious researcher who has documented her proven findings. Children of ? Blackwell and ?: Isaiah Blackwell Joel Blackwell b 1738 VA? d 1821 married 1) Henrietta Byars possibly in Orange Co., NC.  2) Rebekah Watkins 3) Mrs Sarah Ann Doggett Byars. Child of Joel and Rebakah: John B. Blackwell b 1765. Peter Sylvester Blackwell b 1788 d 1857 married Lydia Padgett Child of Peter and Lydia: Sylvester Blackwell b 14 Nov 1810 NC d 3 Jun 1888 Greene Co., MO.  He  moved from NC to McMinn Co., TN then MO, married (1) Martha Griggs b 16 Jan 1819 d 27 Aug 1876.  Martha is the daughter of Joel Griggs and Eunice ? of McMinn Co., TN. (2) ? Price (widow of Colonel Marcus Boyd)  Miss Price is the daughter of Crabtree and L. Price, natives of VA. Sylvester and Martha are buried in the Clear Creek Cemetery near Willard, Greene Co., MO, just north of Springfield. Daniel Blackwell Note:  Sylvester Blackwell was born within four miles of the battle grounds for the Battle of Cowpens.  In 1823 his parents moved to McMinn Co.,TN.  He was a farmer and blacksmith.  He held the office of Justice of the Peace for four years.  He was Colonel of a regiment of State Militia.  In 1855 he moved to Greene Co., MO.
