John Phillips the younger was the son on John and Rachel Phillips, who moved
to Kentucky when he was only six years of age. In doing research at our local
libary, I came across a book compiled by Ruth Paull Burdette on the Marriage Records
of Adair County, Kentucky 1802-1840. Several pages within the book refer to
marriages where a Phillips family member was involved either as bride or groom
or under some other position within the wedding party. What was compelling
was the Phillips family's tendency to recycle names. Since they are so close
to those in my own line and dates seem to fit, at least at first glance, I
have been wondering if our John Phillips' son isn't the one listed in Columbia, KY
(Adair County) records. Anyone tracing that line with information available,
please email me to confirm.
