Great page, amazing how the Norwoods spread about. I am a decendent of Mary Trye (nee Norwood) who married Thomas Trye of Haresfield, their grandson Charles Brandon Trye inheirated Leckhampton court in 1797. Henry Norwood being the last male to be Lord of the Manor until his death in 1797.

My Grandfather, Lester Lloyd Norwood, Sr, passed in Grand Rapids, MI, 1981. His only son, my uncle, Lester Lloyd Norwood, Jr passed in LA CA 1992. Charles Norwood was the business manager of Turnbull & Joyce in the late 1700's, early 1800's in this area, Louisiana, as well as the Mobile area. I'm actually researching Constance Rochon Joyce Duplantier. Her first husband, John Joyce, died in 1798. is partner, John Turnbull, died three months later leaving his widow Catherine Rucker Turnbull. A few years later, Constance married Armand Duplantier. I'm looking for any information regarding Constance or either of her husbands. . . old documents, let ers, etc. I do know that Charles Norwood was not at all fond of Duplantier. Anyone have anything about them?

Great Site. My family and I were fortunate to have lived in England for six years while serving with the USAF. During the last three years we had the luck and the time to get on the Norwood Trail. As such, we visited Leckhampton Court the Isle of Sheppey and St. Andrews Church in Shalford; all sites mentioned on your site. Other sites we discovered with Norwood links and visited were: Wormshill, Kent (Stained glass window of Norwood and Gatton Arms quartered in village church), Milton Regis, Kent (Norwoo Brasses and Norwood Family Tree on display in church chancel), Cheltenham Museum (Portrait of William Norwood, Lord of Cheltenham and Leckhamton Manors, Sheriff of Gloustershire), grandfather of William and Francis Norwood who came to Virgina and Mass. Literary tip: check Samuel Pepy's Diary for comments on royalist Col Henry Norwood (buried in same grave with his grandfather, the above mentioned "William"). Thanks for a great site! Steve Norwood
