>Mommy's Little Girl

Remembering back when you entered my world
how frightened I was as this Mommy unfurled
I really was still just a child in my heart
but when I looked at you, I fell all apart.
When you cried I held you so comfortably close
and did all I could do to comfort my rose
Sometimes you were fussy and wouldn't relent
I just couldn't seem to make you feel content.

You grew up each day in my loves embrace
and I always dressed you in satin and lace
Pretty ruffled dresses and bows in your hair
and patent leather shoes for little feet wear.
And Mommy did her very best to remain
your protector and shelter you from the worlds pain
To rock you and cradle you in love and in peace
and keep you from harm, but you made me release.

But you were still growing and wanted your way
and I let you naturally live out your day
To do in your life whatever you chose
even tho Mommy hated letting you go.
When you fell i helped you through all the strife
trying to heal your bruises from life
When the storm clouds rained on your parade day
I wished your life sunny and prayed them away.

My little angel so fair and so pure
flying on her own wings of demure
Carrys on her shoulders burdens so rough
I always have felt Mommy wasn't enough.
Today you have blossomed to a jewel of delight
my hearts always with you, both day or in night
I no longer can dress you in lace or hair bows
but if anything hurts you, your Mommy still knows
