Remember what a Singletree
is?
It is a round piece of wood with
a metal hook on each end
and a metal ring in the center.
The trace chains from each horse's harness
are hooked to the ends, and the ring is hooked to a plow.
If two horses are working together,
two singletrees are hooked onto a doubletree.
