I enjoy old cable cranes, as well as all crane stuff. Photos, models, full size, etc. Most of my photo collection is of "smaller" cranes than draglines. I live in California and we do ota many big quaries or open pit mines working.

Hey lets get this page up and running!! Looking forward to seeing some ideas. We are here in the antracite region of Pennsylvainia. Had a lot of drags here at one time but they are slowly dwindling. Biggest in the area is a Marion 8750 (85 yds.) at Jeddo ighland Coal CO. Hazleton, PA. We have several model builders in the area, some with excellant talent. One peice is on display at Pioneer Tunnel in Ashland, PA.- A BE 1250. Has been years since I've seen it but remember it as a excellant peice. I take great interest in this because I'm an old drag operator myself. Ran everything from a BE 22-B to a Manitowoc 6400 with a couple of tub machines in between. I'm bookmarking your site and will drop in often.

Great web site. There is definitely something about seeing a dragline in operation that evokes awe.

Great web site, we need more non-military modelling sites. Being a Industrial Modelmaker by trade and always scratch building trucks and construction equipment, i find great pride in seeing others with the same passion for preserving history thru modelin . I have some photos and slides from Marion, of stripping shovels, draglines, and prototypes. Contact me if you are interested. What scale(s) are the models in. I am currently working on a 1/24 scale Rimpull CW-280 bottom dump. I the future i would ike to scratch a 1/24 scale Marion Superfront to go with it. Keep it up.

Just found your Web site via the HCEA site. Nice job! As a long-time military modeler, I've just recently been inspired to try my hand at modeling construction equipment, my original love since age 2. Keep it coming!
