Belize

The link
on this page takes you to a startling image of a set of eyes!
The site itself is very well done, and if you have any interest
in tropical adventure travel, rummage around in the links awhile.
You'll be packing your bags and saying 'Ya Da Fu We Belize' in
no time!
My own
treks to points south are somewhat dated, but the image is still
so vivid, I can taste the sea salt on my lips and hear the coconut
palms groaning in the breeze.
I have
driven through the Yucatan Peninsula on two occasions and flown
into Belize several times. Any way you approach the tiny country,
you're in for a real adventure. At one border crossing, the officials
there warned me sternly, "Do na drink da wadda." I thought
some awful disease was rampant and assured him I would be careful.
He smiled
a huge welcome and said, "Ifn ya do, you weel nada lev."
So, it
was true, I did leave 4 times, and each one with great regret
and the promise that I'd return to build my home in the tropics.
We have
since set aside those island dreams for awhile, and built a home
on the family farmstead. Most of our web site concerns the agriculture
endeavors, but every now and then, a little garifuna roll creeps
into my speech, and I am off on another jungle trek.

'shhhhhhh,
ebery bodi pip don, I hear t'ings. Dere t'ings just out dere.'.

Be quiet, be very very quiet, I am listening to the voice of the
jungle)
