Pokey!

Pokey explores the Resort

Pokey is my Male Red Eared Slider. He likes to explore around more than Godzilla. He sleeps in the pond though. Pokey is now eating everything that Godzilla will. I guess that appetizer stimulant really worked. I think it was called B1 or something, but it worked really good.

When I pick up Pokey he kind of "Walks In Air" or scratches around until you let him go, then he waits in his shell for me to leave or stop moving. I think Pokey is about 6 years old, but I'm not sure because I didn't witness his birth. Anyway, my Grandpa found him over a road outside Pampa.

Pokey will sit in a corner all day and dig, then crawls into the pond to sleep or cool off. At the end of each week, I ruin his little hole so he can't dig his way out (because he did once!).

If it weren't for Pokey, I never would have gotten the idea of keeping the turtles outdoors, because I probably never would have gotten a new turtle. I like keeping them outside, though, because I don't have to clean their water (Mother nature has equiped herself with some natural filters like Protozoa, Bacteria, Fish, Snails, etc.)
