My name is Sandra [McRoberts] Savey, 
and this is my little corner
of the web.

and I live in Fleming Co., Ky., U.S.A. My
interest is genealogy, my husband Mike's hobby,
is Super Stock Tractor Pulling (photo). He owns
a 5500 John Deere Super Stock Tractor, we call
the Canadian Mist 2. Mike and the
Candian Mist 2 won the National Farm Mach.
Show 5500 Super Stock Class at Louisville, Ky., this year,
in Feb. 1998. You can find us from May till Oct.,
pulling with the American Tractor Puller's Association,
anywere east of the Mississippi. So,
if you happen to see us, stop and say hello. We own
and live on a 400 acre farm, that has been
in my McRoberts family for four generations, prior
to that it belonged to one of my Rawlings family.
The house we live in was built by my gt. grandfather
John MCROBERTS, prior to 1892. Mike and I
are the parents of three daughter's:
Michelle Lee SAVEY m. James O. STEWART Jr.,
Melissa Joy SAVEY m. Rickey GRAY and
Abagail Lynn SAVEY m. Gergory Wilson HAMILTON.
We have one grandaughter Ashlee Shanelle STEWART,
three grandson's, James Michael [Mikey] STEWART,
Zackery Wilson HAMILTON and Dylan Rawlings GRAY.

 

MY MOTHER'S SIDE OF MY FAMILY:

 

Moses SNEDEGAR b. abt. 1752, Ny.,
married Mary [unk.]. Moses is listed as SNEDEKER,
SNEDIKER, and SNEDECKER,
in the Rev. War. Moses servered
in the Continental Army for seven years.
Moses is a descendant of Jan SNEDEGAR,
who came from Holland to Nieuw Netherlands,
later Nieuw Amsterdam, now New York City,
Ny., abt. 1639.

 

After the Rev. War, Moses,
his father Christopher [ son of Abraham SNEDEKER],
and the bro's of Moses, and their families,
left Orange Co., Ny. and setteled for a while in
what is now Greenbrier Co., Wv. Later Moses,
his father and bro's and families, moved
on into Kentucky. One brother, Joshua SNEDEGER,
did not move onto Ky.

 

Christopher SNEDEGAR setteled in Bourbon Co., Ky.,
were he lived until his death, date of death unk.
some of the SNEDEGAR'S, settled in Montgomery Co., Ky.,
and Bath Co., Ky., Moses SNEDEGAR
setteled in Fleming Co., Ky., Moses SNEDEGAR
died on March of 1814, during the War of 1812.
Moses SNEDEGAR'S son William was born. July 06, 1792,
died Feb. 25, 1845 in Bath Co., Ky.
William SNEDEGAR married Sarah [Sally] TRUMBO
on Dec. 11, 1820, in Bath Co., Ky. Sarah TRUMBO
was born on March 24, 1803 in Bath Co., Ky.
Sarah TRUMBO was the daughter of John TRUMBO
born 1776 and Sarah ATCHINSON born July 17, 1778
in Va., died Oct. 23, 1853 in Bath Co., Ky.
The TRUMBO'S are of French descent.

 

John SNEDEGAR,
son of William and Sarah [TRUMBO] SNEDEGAR
was born in 1828, in Bath Co., Ky., he died in 1891,
in Bath Co., Ky. John SNEDEGAR married
Margaret HEDRICK born in 1834 and died in 1922 ,
at the home of her daughter and son-in-law
Jess and Nan [SNEDEGAR] BARBER,
at Wyoming, Ky. Bath Co. Bruce SNEDEGAR,
the son of John and Margaret [HEDRICK] SNEDEGAR,
was born on Aug. 03 1868 in Wyoming,
Ky. County of Bath. He died on July 07, 24, 1962,
at his home in Owingsville, Ky. Bath Co.
he married July 07, 1891 in Aberdeen, Ohio,
Brown Co., Leona BRADLEY born Oct. 07, 1872
in Hillsboro, Ky., Fleming Co. and died May 03, 1940
Fleming Co., Ky., at her home across the
Licking River from Wyoming, Ky., Bath County.
Leona [BRADLEY] Snedegar was the daughter of
Walter A. BRADLEY born May 08, 1843 in Bourbon
Co., Ky. the son of Hiriam BRADLEY and
Mary [last name unk.] BRADLEY. Walter A. BRADLEY
married June 23, 1870 in Fleming Co., Ky.
Emily HAVENS born June 23, 1870 in Fleming Co., Ky.,
Emily Havens was the daughter of
Alfred Havens of Fleming Co., Ky.

 

From 1914 till 1950, Bruce SNEDEGAR owned
and operated the Ferry Boat at Wyoming, Ky.
in Bath Co., the Ferry and my gt. grandfather
Bruce SNEDEGAR, ferried cargo, passenger's,
wagons, horses, and vehicles across the Licking River
from Bath Co. to Fleming Co. and Fleming Co.
to Bath. My Papaw Bruce SNEDEGAR, lived a long
and useful life. I can still see him sitting at
his home in Owingsville, Ky., in his wicker rocking chair,
and when he was able, you would find him
at the couthouse in Owingsville, along with the rest
of the older gentelmen, visiting and passing the day.
It would have been an experience, to have been there,
and written an account of the stories they had to tell.

 

Agnes Lee SNEDEGAR, only daughter of Bruce
and Leona [BRADLEY] SNEDEGAR, was born
on May 27, 1892 at Wyoming, Ky., Bath Co.,
she died on Nov. 25, 1993 in Flemingsburg, Ky.,
Fleming Co.,at the age of 101 yrs. On Aug. 11, 1911, in
Cincinnati, Ohio, she married Clyde Newman CALL.
Clyde N. CALL was born in 1889 and died in 1951.
In his lifetime he servered as Sheriff of Fleming Co., Ky.
and Chief of Police of Flemingsburg, Ky., Fleming Co.
At one time he owned and operated a blacksmith
shop in the community of Hillsboro, in Fleming Co., Ky.
Clyde N. and Agnes L. [SNEDEGAR] CALL
were my granparents. My papaw died when
i was five yrs. old, but i remember him as a
loving snow white haired man. He was
well thought of in Fleming Co. and those that still
remember him, will tell you what a wonderful
person he was. Clyde CALL's nickname was Shep.
My Mamaw Agnes CALL, taught me to fish,
OH !! how she loved to go fishing, we would go
and stay from the early morning till dark. My
Mamaw CALL, was my second mother.
I lived with her after my mother, her daughter,
died when i was 15.

 

Clyde Newman CALL,
was the son of John CALL born 1864
died 1943 and Mittie [BROWN] CALL
born 1871 died 1804. John CALL was
the son of Nimrod CALL born March 09, 1832
died Feb.01, 1908 in Fleming Co., Ky. Nimrod CALL
married Nancy J. WATSON born Aug. 24,
died Feb. 03, 1892 in Fleming Co., Ky. Nimrod CALL
was the son of Hamilton CALL born March 03, 1800
in Bourbon Co., Ky. died before 1880, he married
in Bourbon Co., Ky. Elizabeth STEWART
born May 06, 1802, died before 1900.
Hamilton CALL was the son of Samuel CALL
born abt. 1754 in Va. and Priscilla unk.,
Samuel Call setteled in what is now Bourbon Co., Ky.
Elizabeth [STEWART] CALL was the
daughter of Alexander STEWART born Nov. 25, 1761
in Augusta, Botetourt Co., Va., died June 15, 1836
in Bath Co., Ky. Alexander STEWART married
Dorotha [Dorothy] MCGEE born abt. 1768
in Ireland, died in Bath Co., Ky. Dorotha MCGEE'S
father was James MCGEE.

 

My mother was Olive Ayres CALL,
the only daughter of Clyde Newman CALL
and Agnes Lee [SNEDEGAR] CALL. She was
born on Feb. 09, 1915, at Hillsboro, Ky.
in Fleming Co., she died on March 09, 1962,
at the Old Hayswood Hosp. in Maysville, Mason Co., Ky.,
from a brain tumor. She was a school teacher
and taught in alot of the old one room school's
in Fleming Co., Ky. On Feb.29, 1936, she married
my father Clive Rawlings MCROBERTS in Morehead,
Rowan Co., Ky. Witness were Dorothy LEFORGE
and Weldon LYNAM.

 

I, Sandra [MCROBERTS] SAVEY,
was an only child. I guess, after waiting eleven yrs.
after their marriage, they decided, one child was enough.
