OUR HOMEPRESCHOOL

Here you will find what has turned out to be an online journal. It sort of developed on its own. I didn't plan it this way. Before you think that you're in for some kind of torture if you read them, let me say that I only wrote about the highlights. The big highlights! Still sound boring? Well, if a journal is too text intensive, (and if nothing else this site is text intensive), then you can take the cool Photo Tour and see some of the highlights with almost no reading.

Homeschooling at this young age is about so much more than just the ABC's and counting and colors and shapes. It's about talking about the clouds and where the water goes when it rains. It about learning to share, helping around the house (the beginning of family obligation), and realizing that other people have feelings too. You can talk about so much and there's no need to talk down to a young child. They understand a lot. In these journals I've written about the special moments like when he first said, "I luh you," and the day he dressed himself and he so proudly went through the market in his gold sparkly bicycle helmet, an inside out t-shirt, Levis and tennis shoes. I also share with you various resources and opportunites for teaching as I learn of them myself.
