Enjoyed your site very much. I have a lot of information
on the Raymond side of the family from the Quebec area. My mother was a Raymond
on the Jean Baptiste Raymond, bn approx 1664 in France and came to Canada as a
soldier. He married M. Louise Drouss n. There are various spellings of the
Raymond name (Bertrand, Raimon, Remond). I have searched through my records and
there is a Gabriel Raymond, though I'm not sure that it is the same Gabriel. Our
is Gabriel Raymond dit Toulouse, son of Jean Baptiste aymond and M. Francoise
Laroche, bn 1745, married Marguerite Jolivet, St-Philippe de Laprairie, Quebec
in 1768 and they had three children. Laprairie is a very short distance from
Montreal. Gabriel Raymond & M. Francoise Laroche had a son, Gabriel Raymo d
who married M. Anne Arcouet on 11 Aug 1800, also in St. Philippe. My parents met
and married in the South Dakota area. If you would like more information on the
Raymond side of the family, I would be happy to share it with you.

I am the great grand daughter of Lars Haugen who farmed
on the farm which you have pictured on your web site. I visited that farm in
August of 1997. I met other distant relatives that still live in Hovet. No
relatives are in possession of the "Haugen Farm . The name sign of Haugen is
still posted on the barn. Lars Haugen's daughter, Margit Haugen, my maternal
grandmother, came to the United States in 1908. She married and moved to Canada
with her husband.

Anna Bjorke has visited us & spent time with us on two different occasions.

of Ida Engeland who died when I was 8 years old. Agnes lived with me for 23-l/2

My grandfather, Nels O Haugen immigrated early 1900's and
married Ida from N.D. They homesteaded in DesLacs & Berthold, ND. Of 7
children, my father, Donald M. Haugen was the 2nd youngest and is now deceased.
We have family in North Carolina, Berthold, ND, Montana, California, British
Columbia & Alberta. After growing up with such an unusual name in New
England, it's very nice to see so many Haugens on your guestbook. Your old black

when the first World war Started, around 1917,to MN. Grandmother was Petrinella

Bernardstown NJ. Her father was Jeremiah Jeffrey, her mother was Ann Blackford.
She married Richard Ayers and they ended up in Trumansburg NY. I have no other
information on her and joined the JEFFREY surname list in the hope of finding a
connection. I did not know of the alternate "Geoffroi" spelling till I saw your
page. Sounds as though it might be French.

Norway and emigrated to the United States when he was 4 years old. He married
Anna Christina Olson in North Dakota in 1910. She died in 1935 and is buried in
Michigan Cemetery near Grand Forks, N . John J. remarried Anna Koeppke in GF.
John J. died 9March 1954 in Grand Forks. He and Anna Olson had six children:
Florence, Irene (my Mother), Jeannette, Ruth, Joseph, Maida. Anna OLson Haugen
was Post Mistress in Mapes, ND for several years. John J was a blacksmith. Do

to see if my kin include Hougan. I have a good friend with that surname, and we
are in Montana. My maternal folks came from Byneset. I would love to see if we
