My paternal Grandfather, Peder Arneson Haugen, left
Hovet, Norway as a very young child in 1866. His father was Odney
(Arne) Person Haugen, born 28 August 1829, married Jorand Persdatter
lisierlert, born 1841. They were married about 1860. The Haugen farm
lies in or near Holun, with Annfinnset to the south and lower
Liabergstolen to the north. The first farm name used was
Annfinnsethaugen, later it became Jakobshaugen for a man whose name
was Jakob A. Nesteg. After this it became Haugen. This is in Hol.
Hallingdal, Norway.
