Shiloh Church was organized in 1872 near its present site.  The
nine charter members named in an article by J. R. Eanes were:
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harris, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Burks, Mr. and Mrs. 
George Cunningham, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lewis and Miss Laura Traylor.
The congregation now occupies a remodeled stone veneer building 
they completed in 1941.  The earliest marked grave is that of Jesse
C. son of Thomas J and Elizabeth Harris, who died 20 April 1882.
The cemetery is still used and the inscriptions were copied in 
1967 and revised on 16 October 1977.
  
     Shiloh Cemetery is about seven miles southeast of Comanche, TX 
and may be reached by taking Highway #36 south from Comanche.
About 5.5 miles out, a county road turns right off the highway.
This corner is identified by signs pointing the way to a "Primative
Baptist Church" and the Frazier Clark's farm.  Follow this county 
road about 2.7 miles to a fork from which the church building can
be seen.  Take the left path to the well fenced cemetery.
