The home of the laplabs Frankie, Hannah,Mariah, Izy, Rosah and the rottie who thinks she is a labrador:Onyx.
Wood Duck Kennel is located in Northern New Hampshire in the foothills of the White Mountains equidistant from Boston, MA and Montreal, Canada.
At Wood Duck I strive for Labradors that meet the standard and can perform in the obedience ring and/or the show ring. However, at Wood Duck, the family companion is the reason for its existence.

Currently residing at Wood Duck is Can OTCH, U-CDX Whipowil's Francesca, Am/Can UD, CGC, TT - "Frankie", - Chablais Wood Duck Y Hannah, CGC - "Hannah", - Can CH Wood Duck Dark 'N Stormy, CGC - "Mariah" - (daughter of Hannah), Wood Duck Country Rose- "Rosah" (daughter of Mariah), Whipowil's Wood Duck Isabella - "Izy" (grand niece of Frankie) and Rott Irons Just Mine, CGC - "Onyx" . .

And maybe I forgot to mention who these gals own: Jeanne Charest. To keep these gals in the lifestyle they are accustomed to, I work as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I am also an obedience instructor and occasional dog handler.

Frankie was my first Labrador. She was shown in the conformation ring but her area to shine in is obedience.

She always works with a happy tail. She is now retired an can occasionally be seen as a veteran. I think at nearly 11, she has earned her retirement.
Many thanks to Bev Chapman and Whipowil Kennel.
This is Frankie and me after completing her Canadian CDX...along with her loot
Completing her Canadian UD and getting that coveted OTCH. We almost needed a U-Haul on this trip. Summer of 1998 was very good!
Well it snows up here and sometimes labs just dive into it!!!!!!!!!
Chablais Wood Duck Y Hannah, CGC

Hannah is imported from the Chablais Kennel in Quebec, Canada.
Madeleine Charest and Jean Louis Blais have been friends and great mentors over the years. Thanks Mado and Jean Louis for a piece of Chablais and a foundation bitch.
Hannah as a young pup. You can just see those gears working. Don't let the sweet face fool you.
Hannah enjoying a relaxing moment after being in the show ring. Now do you know why I call them laplabs.
Hannah placing in Sweeps an the Labrador Retriever Club of America National Specialty at 15 months. -- Fall 1997
Placing first in the Canadian Bred Class at the Canadian National Specialty, Kingston, Ontario June 1999 under breeder judge Mary Weist.
Yep, Hannah is a brood bitch..........sooooooooo lets go see what that can look like
Less than 3 days old. Hannah supervises the brood. The keeper is in there. Who is she? What will we name her? Oohhh puppy breath !!!
Off to see the stud dog owner for puppy evaluation. We are 7 weeks old now! I think a black girl is staying. I wonder who. They all have nicknames: Ms. Piggy, Pokey, Snowball, Snowflake, Tiny Tot. Who will it be???
Yep, Yep I'm the keeper they say. The best from Hannah and Rory (Chucklebrook Mouse that Roared). My name is Tiny Tot but from now on I'm going to be:
Wood Duck Dark 'n Stormy!
Can CH Wood Duck Dark'n Stormy, CGC

The first keeper from Hannah's first litter. Named after a potion found in Bermuda (Ginger Beer and Rum) a shorter call name must be found. Fittingly she is nicknamed Mariah (they call the wind Mariah). And so the next generation at Wood Duck Kennel begins on March 7, 1998.
Placing first in the 6-9 month class under judge Dr. Sturtz , Dec. 1998 at Ladies Dog Club. She was in the ribbons (2 first,1 second, 1 fourth) at each show that weekend.
Shown at the Canadian National in Kingston, Ontario in June 1999 by co-breeder Madeleine Charest (Chablais), Mariah places 3rd in Bred-by Class under breeder judge Mary Weist.
Winners Bitch from the Bred-by class at the Eastern Ontario Labradors Breeders Assoc. following the Canadian National in June 1999, Mariah takes a 5 point major under breeder judge William Gugins.
and the next generation at Wood Duck now has Rosah

Residing with us for a little while, from the Amilab Kennel in L'Epihanie, Quebec, Canada Amilab Woodduck Peachs'n Creme.Ginger, as she is better known, came to the United States in January, 1999. She currently resides with Chris & Melissa Halle in Shelburne, NH.

Now don't we have an adorable face or what............
And look at the pigment......... no it is not shoe polish on her nose or mascara around her eyes.
Frankie and Ginger just "hanging out". Guess there is no room for me in that chair.
