I used to offer to find out UK postcodes, however the UK post office now has a more enlightened attitude, and you can get postcodes from addresses (and addresses from postcodes) from http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/postcodefinder?catId=400145. (Note to American readers - our postcode system means that we can identify a property to within 15 possibilities via a postcode. Some properties are either large enough or remote enough to have their own postcode).
Please note - I work in IT. This site is therefore a bit like a mechanic's car. I've updated it once since 1998! (It is now 2004).
