Note: rhodac@mosquitonet.com lists a child Peter and a child Mary. I do not have a record of Peter, and wonder if he died before they moved to Iowa?

There is a Geren plot in the Spring Creek Cemetery. Samuel and Catherine's graves are not marked, but certainly are there. There is a stone marked "Mother" Mary A Geren b 1845, d 1911, for Robert's wife. Robert's is, also, there. Anna in buried there and her inscription says: Blessed are the pure in Heart. They were pioneers farmers in Black Hawk County.

Query:
The 1870 census show that a
Wm. Hall, age 14 was living with Samuel and Catherine. He could be an indentured servant. Or, could he be Annas son. . .as she died young. Or? Could Annas child be Rhoda Brown, age 10 who is living with William Perry and Mary Geren Bingaman?

William Perry Bingaman

Mary was just a girl of 15 when she married William Perry Bingaman. Both the Bingaman's and the Geren's were early Iowa settlers. . .coming to the state in covered wagons drawn by mule teams. My grandmother remembered her well, as Mary lived to be a very old woman. My grandmother said she died at age 101. After her husband died and her daughter died she lived with William Perry Bingaman and help raise her granddaughters, Ivadell (and possibly) Emma Marie Lane.

There is a Geren plot in the Spring Creek Cemetery in Black Hawk County Iowa
The two unmarked graves are probably Samuel and Catherine Geren.
Robert b Geren b 1832 d 1902 "father"
Mary A Geren b 1845 d 1911 "mother"
This would be the son and daughter-in-law of Samuel and Catherine.
Anna A Geren d/o S & C Geren d Sep 12 1865 ae 28 (?)yr "Blessed are the pure in heart" Looking at my researcher's notes I cannot tell if Anna was 18 or 28
